Can't Wait For Fable II

Post  xGBUKx Tully on Sun Sep 07, 2008 6:32 pm

At the moment I probably seem annoying to a select few people, but I can't wait for FABLE II.
In This Thread I want people to discuss the game and its features.

PS. This will be my first thread and I had no other ideas plus I'm not a good speller so don't be a grammar Nazi. Embarassed

Sick is an Understatement. Fable 2 looks mediocre, and I probably won't buy it. Some of the features looks cool (Orgy anyone?), but the gameplay looks meh. I like the dog idea, but why bother with a virtual one when I can bother with my actual one. Currently the selling point for me is the rifles and the crossbows. Ranged combat is where it's at.

It's gunna be AWESOME and the reason you would have a virtual one is 'cause it doesn't shit everywhere!!!!! but i wouldn't expect an fps junky like you to like something like FABLE!!!!

Christ, you already have heard my counter arguement haven't you? A real dog will always be better than a virtual dog, because you can't get genuine love and affection from a virtual dog. Plus, I never said I didn't like it, I just said it looks meh. I have seen better RPG's, mainly Fallout 3 or Oblivion.

All though fallout 3 looks amazing (you can pickpocket and put stuff in their pockets such as i dunno... a live hand grenade, thank you playr for that info) Fable 2 looks just as amazing as Fallout 3 in it's own way and also the thing is you can get the love from your dog the whole idea is that it makes you be the character hence the choicenes AND THE AFFECTION OF YOUR DOG!!!

I know that the dog changes with how your character is, but I don't care. A realistic dog isn't going to make me want a game. I care about the gun/bow/sword play and how interesting the game is to play. Remember GTA IV, that had loads of crappy gimmicks like the internet which were fun at first but got really old fast. I'm thinking fable might end up like that, like how you have to heal your dog when it gets hurt. I think that'll get annoying if my dog is a retard and thinks he can take out a bandit armed with a flintlock rifle.

Well of course your gonna get its cheap for you! Out of fable and fallout its gotta be fable for me as from the videos i have watched fallout looks near enough exactly the same as oblivion was, which is game i ended up despising for its combat. The VATs looks alright but fables combat looks more interesting as its all on one button. Criticise away... Question

I shall not critisize, I kind of respect your opinion on the Oblivion combat system. I admit it was fairly bad, but I liked it. I'm not gonna do a Danny and murder you 'cos you aren't getting the same RPG as me. I disagree with the one button thing, I'd rather have a few buttons to press. By the way, don't B Y and X count as the combat buttons for Fable? X is melee Y is Guns/Bows and B is magic?

I have seen an incredibly small amount of actual combat gameplay. Just Peter Molenyew(sp?) fucking around with that damn dog and those bloody expressions. I might change my mind when I actually play it. Having a realistic dog doesn't make a good game.

You can make combo's and shit like assasins creed but it's more interactive with the combat even though asassins creed had an awesome combat thingee even if it was repetitive

As proved by nintendogs. Why thank you for not criticising my humble assessment and yeah Peter Molenyeux does kind of overdo his baby a liitle bit. As long as the you aren't as invincible as you are in assassins creeds then it should work really well, especially as you have that rythm thing in the background for timing. Plus the coop which i dont think fallout has.

Yeah, the idea of the combat seems good. Finishing a combo with a rifle shot could be cool. I want to give this game a chance, but the gameplay videos aren't looking promising. I'll just wait untill october, if the hadron cylinder hasnt killed us by then.
